Give Now

It takes a village to raise a child is an African proverb that means an entire community of people must interact with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment.

Let’s adopt this mindset, “It takes a good member to be a good church!”  Shall we elevate it?  Why not!  “It takes great members to be a great church.”

The duty is not just on the Pastor or the leadership; every one of us needs accountability and must live up to the expectations to do great things!

Sadly, the joy and excitement of joining a church quickly subside when the reality of the work and working with people becomes prominent.  A few things you must remember, no church is perfect, and no person is without flaws.  We must give each other “grace.”  After all, we are a “grace-filled” people; it says it in our vision statement – remember?

What does it mean to be a good member? Let's express it in the form of "I will."

I will be a functioning church member.

Galatians 6:10 -  "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone--especially to those in the family of faith." The difference between “attendees” and “members” is simple. An attendee is a CONSUMER, and a member is a CONTRIBUTOR. I WILL CONTRIBUTE!

I will protect the unity of my church.

Ephesians 4:3 -  "Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace." When we respond in love toward others, refuse to gossip (instead pray) and follow the vision given by God through the set leader, we strengthen the Unity of the Church. I WILL CONTRIBUTE!

I will share the responsibility of my church.

Luke14:23 LB “Go out into the country… and urge anyone you find to come in, so that My house will be full.” By praying for its growth, inviting others to attend, warmly welcoming those who visit and embracing those who will connect with us in the future; you have a part in helping us to BE ALL THAT WE CAN BE in serving and reaching others for the Kingdom of God. I WILL SHARE!

I will serve in my church.

1 Peter 4:10 - Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you." Unfortunately, many people attend church but not many serve. In the average Church only 20% of the people who claim to be members actually get involved.  Let’s NOT be average.  Ask God to give you a servant’s heart and serve in areas that are needed. I WILL SERVE!

I will support my church.

Acts 2:42 - “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." By attending church and participating in its functions faithfully, living a lifestyle of faith and example to others and giving regularly of our tithes and offerings are ways in which we can support the local church I WILL SERVE!
